2013 retrospective : May @ Connemara, Ireland
End of April made me insomniac & that kept going throughout May, which was my last month living in Ireland. I was getting a lot of anxiety attack at random places, but mostly when being alone at night. When my parents visited me for a few days they took me out of my exams & anguish on a small roadtrip to the west coast, & that was a real relief.
Connemara is a fantastic region which motto definitely is "Quietness". Grey lakes surrounded by ochre grass, sheeps wandering around, pure light and fresh air, everything will make you feel at peace. There is something truelly authentic about this place, people living here are genuinely happy and welcoming, it's okay to take your time, to wait contemplative under the rain, to take a walk with no talk.
We met this fellow by the roadside, a Connemara pony (even though they look like horses) all wet, asking for food & attention. I'm one of these really annoying people who stop at every animal they meet to pet them, take picture, & keep going on how adorable they are for hours. When I saw this cutie I yelled at my dad to stop the car in the name of adorableness & stayed under the rain for 15 minutes solid. Not sorry.
