Description
This is for Round 17 of the fashion challenge being held by of in which everyone was assigned a different mask from which to draw our inspiration. I was given this elegant masterpiece of feathers that inspired me to try for something ostentatious and poofy. Well... I managed the poofy part. *LOL* I originally wanted to work more feathers into it, but apparently, even when I'm TRYING to be over-the-top, I can only go so far. However, I do like the overall effect, even if some of the colors were just NOT cooperating, (mainly the blues). I was simply unable to get that shade of medium royal blue, no matter which palette I was working with, or that shade of teal blue that we see in the gems on the mask. (Teal green, no problem! Teal blue however just wasn't happening. >.< ) I also tried to represent the two different types of lace appliques, and though I'm pretty happy with one (the one up by her waist over top of the peacock feathers) I don't think the other one turned out quite as well. But by this point in time I'd caught a cold was running out of ideas. Overall though, I think Violette is well-dressed for a Masquerade, even though I didn't even try to recreate the mask itself... as always though, feedback is both welcome and appreciated.Other participants in the challenge:

I think you should have put her on the snow background instead, in front of this the colours do not stand out too well...
But whatever, the dress is GORGEOUS! I love how you did all the different feathers, and the decoration on the right side of the dress is stunning! You did a great job with the colour combination!
