This is my entry for 's contest for making our OC's using any doll-maker program we want. This is Queen Salacia of the planet Neptune, the mother of Sailor Neptune during the days of the Silver Millennium from the anime and manga Sailor Moon. (I took ideas from both sources, as they sometimes differ on some things.)

(Some of this is taken directly from the lore established by Naoko Takeuchi, the creator of Sailor Moon, and some of it I've adapted from her materials, and some I've completely come up with on my own, as the details pertaining to that period of time in the story are few and not always very specific. For the names of most people, I've looked to Roman and/or Greek mythology for inspiration, as those sources inspired the names of the planets themselves.)

Name: Queen Salacia of Neptune
Age: Several hundred (It's a bit impolite to ask a queen her exact age.)
Universe/World: Sailor Moon, specifically the Silver Millennium
Strengths: Water, Oceans, Sea animals, Prescience
Weaknesses: Fire, Lightning
Personality: Normally she is tranquil and calm. When the Queens of the Silver Millennium would, on rare occasions gather together, she, along with the Queen of Mercury were often the voices of reason. She was respected for her wisdom and was very nurturing towards her daughter. But like the sea, when she was riled her wrath was almost unequaled.
Friends/Family: She was the wife of the great Neptune and gave birth to their heir who inherited her old title of Sailor Neptune. Being in close proximity to Uranus and Pluto, she was close friends with the Queens of those worlds as well.
Enemies: For most of her reign the worlds were enjoying a time of peace and Salacia had few enemies. Though it was the duty of the Outter Planets to protect everyone from threats which might come from outside the Solar System, these tended to be few and far between, and were mostly handled by the Sailor Senshi of those worlds.
Love Interest: Neptune. To be more specific, the personification of all the magic and energy that encompassed the planet of Neptune. During the age of the Silver Millennium, each planet had its own consciousness, and that consciousness would take on the form of a human male. When the Silver Millennium was first founded, the beings of each of these worlds took to wife a woman of these long-lived people with whom they felt a strong affinity. These women would bear daughters who had gained the Sailor Crystals for those worlds, and hence the first Sailor Senshi for each planet had been born. Though the people of the Silver Millennium lived long lives, they weren't immortal, and when these first wives of the planets died, one by one, those first personifications would die with them, having lost their will to live. But the planets would form new personifications, with distinct and individual personalities, and they would wed the princesses who had been the daughters of the previous ones. And the lines would continue, with the daughters passing on their Sailor Crystals when they had children of their own. So, at the time our story took place, Salacia is the wife of the personification of Neptune. Though in essence it was an "arranged marriage", they feel genuine affection for one another.
Pets: Though Salacia cares for and can communicate with any sea-dwelling animal, she does have a favorite dolphin named Naiad with whom she loves to swim in the sea.
Favorite Color: Aquamarine
Hobby: She enjoys swimming, music (she's a wonderful harp player), singing and she is a very graceful dancer.
Fun Fact: As with all the other Queens of their planets, they have such a close-connection with their perspective planets, and the energies that surround them, that their dresses and clothing aren't just styled to represent them, but are actually formed of those energies. So, when she walks, the colors of her skirt shift as though one were looking up at the surface of water from beneath, and sometimes different depictions of sea creatures will drift through her train, and she always smells like a fresh, somewhat salty sea breeze. (It gets interesting when all the Queens gather together. Though most people get extremely unsettled if they gaze too long at the dress worn by the Queen of Saturn.)
Short background story: Salacia was born as the daughter of the previous Queen of Neptune; Venilia. The Silver Millennium had a matriarchal structure due in part to the fact that the personifications of each planet could not actually leave their planets. Also, the many intricacies of human ways were often lost on them, so it was their wives who handled all things political. Salacia was trained from a young age in the duties of a Sailor Senshi, specifically one of the Outter Solar System. She, along with the Senshi of Uranus and even Pluto if necessary were set as sentinels to guard the System from outside invaders. She learned to wield the power of the sea and often worked closely with Uranus, the Senshi of the Wind and Sky. When her own mother died, she passed on to her the mantel of Queen, and her father, wailing his grief over his beloved, rent himself apart, becoming one with the Great Ocean once again. Her first task as Queen was not just to find the next personification of the planet, but to coax him into being. She spent seven days swimming into the deepest and darkest parts of the sea until finally she found the Sacred Heart of the Ocean; an underwater cavern lit by the glowing streams of energy surrounding the planet but which all met in that one place. Drawn to it by her Sailor Crystal, she used this nexus of energies to commune with the planet itself, and after some time they came to an understanding. Its grief stilled, and the next Personification formed and together they rose up to the surface to be greeted by their people, now welcoming their new Queen and King. As time went on, she eventually had a child of her own; a daughter who, in another life would be reincarnated as Michiru Kaioh. She taught her daughter to be a Sailor Senshi as she herself had been taught. Things likely would have continued in this vein had trouble not started on far-away Earth. Rebellions were rising, fueled by a dark energy which tainted the planet like a cancer. There, Queen Gia of Earth had broken the tradition and had a son instead of a daughter, and that son, Endymion, had fallen in love with the young Princess Serenity of the Moon, the very heart and heir of the Silver Millenium. Their forbidden love affair had only added fuel to the fires of strife and discord, and "in a single day and night of misfortune" the beloved Silver Millennium had fallen, much like the fabled Atlantis had disappeared in the depths of the sea. And when the Glaive of the awakened Princess of Saturn had fallen, nothing remained alive on any of the planets, save what the Queen of the Moon had managed to achieve with her last dying wish. Queen Salacia died with her people, and no one was left to console the grief-stricken Neptune. To this day, it is as inhospitable as all the other planets, save the one blue and green one which carries all the hopes and dreams of all the planets in its system.

(Wow, so, that went on a bit longer than I'd intended. *LOL* Anyway, the long and short of it is that this is the mother of Sailor Neptune during the Silver Millennium. I know I'm not the only fan of Sailor Moon who's speculated on what the families of the other Senshi were like. I hope this does justice to the original subject material. The doll itself was inspired by me wanting to do some kind of ocean-themed doll. After a while I realized that it was kind of making me think of Sailor Neptune, which is when I got the idea of making it be her mother. I might try doing some of the other mothers of the Senshi, but we'll see how it goes. As always, feedback is welcome and appreciated.)
