Fair enough my friend. Thank you so much! And yes i noticed after i posted if that there was no cast shadow on the planet from the rings, so i'm going to have to fix that.
In terms of how a terrestrial planet may have rings: I believe that without the presence of a gas giant in a solar system, external objects such as dust and asteroids would gravitate towards the nearest object such as the largest terrestrial planet. In this image, this planet simply usurped too much matter in which early moons were created and then destroyed because of the limited amount of space around its orbit.

BTW, ignore the part about the tilt of the rings; it felt off, but it happens all the time, with planetary wobbles. They're only actually rather rarely in perfectly alignment with the sun, like a ring-equinox or something.

Indeed. I've always been interested in astronomy after I took and Earth & Space science class in high school. After that I took astronomy I in College and passed that with flying colors because I used my space art in my exoplanet presentation project. Last semester I took astronomy II which was a bit more difficult, but i passed with an A again. Next semester I'll be taking Advanced Astronomy which will be awesome.
Most space artists (sadly) don't have a general education in astronomy which can greatly affect the realism of there space art. Such key aspects such as lighting, shadow displacement, or even the composition of piece can be wrong due to conflicting theories.
Not to long ago, i got in an argument with this artists who criticized my piece "In The Beginning" Because he thought it was unrealistic that the rings of the planet should not be affected by the shadow of it nor should the rings place a shadow on the planet. *Face Palm* Bloknayrb and I had to explain how that was possible to the point where he was too frustrated with us and left in a fury. haha

Yes, blue and orange/red are my favorite schemes. Red/orange is like fierce, dangerous, or warm, and blue is rather calm, serene and beautiful

Well everyone has to start somewhere. I was terrible when i started, I didnt know how to do anything properly, but when you ask around, the skills build. Your technique will fine-tune itself over time.
