Description "Rescue animals aren't broken, they've simply experienced more life than other animals. If they were human, we would call them wise. They would be the ones with tales to tell and stories to write, the ones dealt a bad hand who responded with courage. Don't pity them. Do something. Help to rescue. Donate. Volunteer. Foster. Adopt. And be proud to have their greatness by your side."

Just a simple thing with some of our rescue cats. They've all had rough beginnings and some it's amazing they're as sweet as they are.

Grover - He was found in a colony of cats and brought in to be neutered. It was discovered he was missing a foot and the volunteer that had found him was given the choice of go through with the surgery and find a foster or euthanize him. She wanted to save him and so he came into one of our fosters. It took him a few weeks, but he became such a loving and sweet boy. There's no trace of his former feral-self anymore!

Hickory - She was living as a feral for 2 years with her 9 kittens from two different litters. She kept her family together and did everything she could to protect them. They were eventually all trapped and Hickory was originally going to be spayed and released into a colony. We decided to give her a shot - try and domesticate her. She ended up turning into a very sweet girl that loves her belly rubbed.

Roddy - He was found as a skinny and very sick stray. The boy is only 3 but many say he looks older because of his hardships so far in life. Roddy was a very angry cat when he was first brought into foster, but he's learned to trust people and will now headbutt us for love.

Soldier - He lived his two years outside being beat up by other cats. By some miracle he was negative for FIV and all other transmitted cat diseases. We had a scare where we thought he had developed FIP and would have to be euthanized, but it was just bad upper respiratory. Despite spending his whole life being beat up by other cats he wants to be friends with everyone and is even Grover's new best friend.

Garrison - He was saved by a couple of volunteers one winter night a few years ago. The poor boy was very skinny and very sick. He was covered in ringworm - the worst out of any PAWS cat so far. It took almost six months to make him well again, but overtime he got better. Garrison was with the rescue for 2 years before finally finding his new family.

Nakita - She was brought in from an abusive home with her sister, Kira. They were fierce kittens and their foster was worried she wouldn't be able to undo what those horrible people did. Nakita was the worst of the two and would try and attack her foster every chance she got. But three weeks later, all she wanted was love and attention. She's now in a wonderful home with a kind man who actually moved JUST so he could adopt her.

I love every cat that comes to us. They are all special and I'm very happy to get to spend a part of our lives together, even if it's only for a short time. But these cats and the ones like them that have defied all odds are among my favorites. They all hold very special places in my heart. It's always hard to tell them good-bye. There have been adoptions I've shed a few tears for. But it's always happy tears. Because I know they're going on to better things. They finally are able to be part of a family of their own.

People say rescue animals are broken. But it's not true. They are some of the most amazing animals out there. They know they've been saved and love you for it.

It never really mattered to me whether the cat I get would be a rescued animal or not. But I always kept stray cats in my house and they were little angels (although there was a cat that wasn't a stray but was still an angel) but from here on I might just get a rescued cat AND the ones that haven't been rescued. One of them may have been deprived of love but both kinds deserve love

You should submit this as a print on here so I could maybe get a poster of it in the future. ^^
