I'd been seeing this poem floating around and thought it went well with one of our PAWS cats - Garrison. He's about 5 years old, and when he was found he was only ~4 pounds and very ill. It took months of care to make him well again, having many close calls.Despite all Garrison has been through, he's an amazing boy. All he wants is a pat on the head... a hug... and a kind word. When he's out for play time he refuses to play, but will sit by whatever volunteers are there are the time purring. Who knows what his life was like before he was saved, but he's sure making up for it now!

He's doing rather well! The first 2 times he was at the center he had to be pulled back out due to health issues, and none of them have come back yet. His foster's said he almost seems happier at the center just because he has so many more people to love him. He's still looking for his home, though. :[ The fact he needs to be on a specific food (he's so allergic to a lot of things, poor boy) has scared some people away from him. :\ Their loss, though! He's one of the most friendly and loving cats we've had!

Ain't that the truth?! All of my cats were strays that we rescued, and one of our dogs is a shelter mutt. I love them all dearly! Rescue animals are the best, hands down!

They are! <3 It's amazing how some can have been through hell and back and are some of the most loving creatures out there.

It's so true. We took in all three of our cats off the streets, and my oldest dog is a shelter girl. I love her sooo much.

At the shelter where I volunteer we have cats that have been there for over a year, they're so sweet and loving, I just can't understand why people overlook them.

He's been with us for about 2 years. :[ All he wants to do is snuggle on your lap or be held (he LOVES being carried around). But so many people overlook him because he has to be an only pet and he needs special food (poor boy has very bad allergies). But at least until these cats find home they are safe and loved. :]

I love this poem! And Garrison is adorable. Gotta love thise sweet mellow tuxes! Have you ever read the Dirty Old Stray poem? I wrote that back in high school and to this day it is a favorite among rescue nutz (:

Figured anything to help adoptions! haha. Garrison has been with us for so long and is starting to get sad and confused. :[ He keeps having to go back to a foster home for a few months because his allergies will act up. But he's a teddy bear.
