Name: Simmer the Volcano Snail

Nicknames: The Lava Witch

Species: Volcano Snail
Gender: Female
Age: Hundreds of years old but looks late 20s early 30s.

Alignment: Villain

Back story: Not much is known about Simmer's past only that she's a centuries old sorceress who likes to makes dark deals with anyone desperate enough to accept her prices in exchange for a magical solution to their problems. And if you cross her she'll send her lava golems to destroy you and your home.

Personality: Wicked, selfish and a bit lazy, Simmer isn't out to conquer the world or serve a higher evil, all she cares about is just living a long, relaxing and pampered life with the occasional entertaining distraction when bored. So she tends to not go out of her way to antagonise heroes unless they provoke her first, and even then she'd rather her golems do most of the dirty work while she lounges around or takes a bath. One of the few things that will snap her out of her laziness is when making deals as she prides herself as a “Professional”. Simmer will grant anyone a wish via her magic or potions in exchange for something depending on certain factors; Simmer's mood, how great the customer's need is, the difficulty of the request, etc. The price can range from simply a favour or a valuable possession, to the extremes of some of the customer's life-span or their soul when they die. Despite these steep prices Simmer likes to think she is more fair in her deals than most malevolent wish granters in that she is willing to let her customers haggle the price (how many years of their life-span, etc) and in the case of their souls upon death she won't try and kill them early and will let them live out their natural life-span as she is a very patient witch.

Likes: Warm baths (especially the bubbling kind),

Dislikes: Cold temperatures, dry places,

Abilities:

Magic Power over Lava, Magma and most forms of volcanic rock. Her spell energy and many of her potions resemble lava (glowing, viscous fluid with various colours).

Can conjure up several Lava golems to serve/protect her. Golems resemble Mobians of various species with differing stages of Lava to rocks in appearance depending on their purpose.

Can retract her whole body into her hat/shell to protect herself.

Skilled in potion brewing.

Ageless, she has lived for hundreds of years thanks to the magical deals she makes with mortals. In the deals that involve life-spans or souls she uses these to extend her own life-span and youth.

Items/Equipment:

Her witches hat is also her shell which is light as a feather in her hands yet is stronger than Iron thanks to being magical and can withstand almost any amount of damage. It can grow in size and acts as Simmer's potion cauldron or bath.

Profession: Simmer considers herself a “Professional Sorceress” who offers her spells and potions to those willing to pay her prices. These prices range from simple like a possession, a favour, to hefty like some of the customer's life-span or even their soul when they die.

Family: If she had any they have died centuries ago.

Friends/Allies:

Enemies: Koral the Orca, Lilly the Mer-Echidna, Order of the White Flame,

Home: Over the centuries Simmer has lived in many of the oceanic zones around the planet, only sticking around for a few years to make deals and build up her legend before moving onto the next. She prefers to set up her dwellings somewhere near volcanic activity or wherever there is plenty of heat in the sea floor, not to far away from population centres but still remote enough to get some privacy. Her current home is a cave near an underwater volcano off the coast of Ocean Ruin Zone.

Fears and Flaws: Simmer is very vulnerable to the cold, the slightest drop in temperature makes her shiver. When it gets too cold (freezing) she'll instinctively retreat into her shell and go dormant. Despite being ageless thanks to the life-spans and souls she takes in her deals, she is not immortal and can get ill, injured or killed like any mortal, she just won't die of old age. Due to her general laziness she's not a very proactive villain and this tends to let heroes or her other enemies get the drop on her.

Creator’s Notes: Another great character design I adopted from with this one I couldn't help but think of someone like Ursula from the Little Mermaid, an sea witch that can grant wishes in exchange for something precious. Though Simmer is a bit nicer than Ursula she's still a villain. Going to need more time to flesh her out some more.
