Description
This is a scene from a modern Izayoi/Inu no Taisho fanfic I'm writing.Jidai Matsuri is the "Festival of Ages" celebrated in Kyoto on the 22nd of October.
To make a long story shot, it's a scene where Inu no Taisho sees Izayoi in a costume of a Feudal princess and she sees him in a costume of a samurai. The man and woman are Izayoi's parents and the shrine maiden is Izayoi's friend.
Oh, and they are standing before the old Imperial palace in Kyoto.

Found this while browsing for Jidai Matsuri. The festival isn't celebrated yet in the time of Inuyasha himself, so it's even less likely his father would be celebrating anything like that. Jidau Matsuri began in the 1800s and Inuyasha is set in the 1500-1600s, but eh. Fanarts is free for all.

I really wish that people would read the artist comment before reviewing the work. It obviously says there that this drawing is fanart for a MODERN AU that I am currently writing about Izayoi and the Inu no Taisho. Please read the artist comment next time, it saves nerves and anxiety on both ends.

U kno I really like this but i'm wondering. Y do Izayoi's parents look so happy? I would expect them not to be seeing dat their daughter is in love with a demon. After all human demon love was considered an abomination. I always wondered y Izayoi had an such a feeling towards demons. Was she just like dat cuz she was nice or did something happen dat make it so?Idk. Damn Rumiko Takahashi!

As you can clearly see from the Artist's comment I wrote, this is a modern fic; meaning that Inu no Taisho is not a demon. That is why her parents have absolutely nothing against him.

Oh OK then. I can't always tell the difference. Plus when I looked it up it did say the festivle didn't happen it the 1800's which was around 600 years later

I hate Izayoi's costume desigh with a passion, but I could not stop once I started drawing, oh well
