I don't know much about Megaman. I've never seen the anime (if there is one, I've never looked for it), and I've barely read the manga (I've just flipped through it and looked at the pictures), but I knew the moment I saw him that I was in love with his outfit. Probably his helmet. If there is such a thing as a helmet obsession, I think I've got it bad.
Although his name is quite misleading...it says MegaMAN...but he looks like a boy. So I decided I'd draw him looking like a man. Or what i think a man looks like. Oh well. Manly enough.

yeah, I wasn't quite sure of how he'd turn out, since I haven't had much exposure to Megaman, but I really do like how I drew him in the end. Did I mention how I have a thing for armor (helmets in particular)? XD I love looking at it, and I wish I could draw all sorts of armor (like mecha-type armor as well), but I still need quite a lot of practice...

Yeah, there are at least a couple of Megaman cartoon series. I kind of like how he lloks older and more mature in this. Because he usally looks and sounds like he hasn't hit puberty yet.

this looks like its the one from megaman: NT warrior. i liked that show. and he was pretty much a boy, except he was a player in a game that eveyone competed in. so he was virtual. you might like it, so i you have any apare time, look into it

yeah, I kinda caught that in the manga (from what I actually read of it XD). I knew that Megaman was basically a boy, but I was like "hmmm...man time now..."
I like the idea of virtual realities. Can get confusing, but they're fun to think about XD

Nice art ^_^ I really like him. I Watched the Anime... It's sooooo damn stupid, but i like the idea of little personalized computers with avatars as Navigators ( Megamen is a navigator there XD). I once thought about making my own net navigator XD

I haven't watched the show, played the games, or read the manga (well, I tried, but you're right...it's pretty childish), but I really liked Megaman's design (because it's armor-based?) *shrug* That's happened to other animes I've watched...sometimes the show is incredibly stupid, but I'll feel compelled to draw one of the characters because of how cool they look

If it was in any way possible for me to marry a helmet, I so would
let's see, when I shade things I get pretty lazy, so I only use three colors...the base color, the shade color, and the tint color (middle tone, shading, and highlights). Using only those three colors (I throw in more if I want to make it complicated), I just experiment with different brushes until I highlight what needs to be brought out, and shade what needs to be toned down. The "blurrier" the brush, the better it blends. The sharper the brush, the more the feeling of a hard surface is created. I can only do this on PS tho...I suck at shading with anything else
