Previous: Discovery of a doll-sized champion
"..."
Dawn suddenly looked up, and took a step forward. Cynthia was quick to realize her intentions.
She wants to explore the cave. Maybe my interest in archaeology has rubbed off on her.
While she was pleased that Dawn was showing some interest in the cave, Cynthia called out to the larger trainer, stopping her.
"Wait! Before you go any further..."
Dawn stopped, looking down into her hand once more.
"After I shrank, I discovered I couldn't call my Pokemon. I think you should bring one out right now, just in case the same thing happens to you too."
Dawn nodded. She threw a ball and summoned her trusted partner Empoleon. Though it had been her idea to bring it out, Cynthia felt a little nervous whilst looking at the Pokemon. It looked so much bigger than she had expected it to be. But she kept her thoughts to herself.
I suspect, given the content of those etchings on the wall, that Pokemon are immune to whatever shrunk me. Maybe we'll find out soon...
Dawn took a few steps forward, past the Ultra ball Cynthia had dropped. That was when the tiny champion felt herself drifting downward. She glanced around quickly, confirming to herself that she was not the one shrinking. Instead it was Dawn, the young trainer walking on oblivious to her changing size.
"Dawn, you're shrinking!" Cynthia warned her.
Her face lit up with surprise. The tiny Cynthia shifted atop her shrinking hand, trying to keep her balance, but it quickly became too small. She slipped off, letting out a yelp as she fell. Luckily she was able to muster a graceful landing and save herself from any injury. Though she had to quickly step out of the way of Dawn's descending bag, which thudded to the ground right where she had once stood.
Empoleon gazed at its trainer in confusion as she continued to shrink. Cynthia sighed, crossing her arms and waiting as Dawn came closer and closer to matching her in size. She was glad Empoleon was out of its ball at least- it could carry them around far faster than the two of them could walk...
