I would like to thank sonicmeteor for pointing out silvers peculiarity's in this post which then snowballed into this theory of mine.

silver the hedgehog a grey hedgehog with large quills small ears and a abnormally fluffy chest, strange traits for a creature born into a time and world ravaged by the fire monster Iblis don't you think, wouldn't silver get heat stroke with all that fur?

wouldn't it make more sense for a society supressed by fire monsters for possibly thousands of years, to evolve traits into their offspring to combat Iblis oppressive temperatures like less fur and bigger ears to rid themselves of excess body heat and regulate their temperature.

that would be the case if silver wasn't born in a snowy environment like I believe to be the case, I believe after Iblis was unleashed into the world, that society didn't just implode into a fiery ball instantly, no that took time, as Iblis moved across the world leaving the world and many city's in ruin, citizens were evacuated into safer areas like the high mountains or tundra's for instants.

were its nice and cold unlike the broiling hells scape the lands would soon become, not everybody evacuated however some brave few stayed behind and formed an army of sorts to combat Iblis to stop its continued march to destroy the few pockets of civilization left, its possible to destroy and stall it for a time as we see in silver story line but it always reforms later.

I believe that silver was born in one of these cold areas among a village as old as Iblis unsealing onto the world, the villagers have evolved to adapt to their frozen home light fur to blend into the snow, small ears and fluff to stay warm not good thing when Iblis comes knocking, they are still under threat after all, the army opposing Iblis is dwindling over time due to low numbers and supplies, and Iblis marches closer to the safe areas, the snow and ice is melting into slush and the inhabitancies suffer.

perhaps silvers home was destroyed all together because of global warming caused by Iblis, or maybe he chose to leave of his own volition and use his powerful psychic powers, shown to be able to dispel ibises flames with ease, to combat Iblis like the army and buy his home more time.

either way silver is in the city were Iblis resides for the moment, he takes to destroying its avatar any time it appears, keeping the last few pockets of civilization safe for a time until he dies somehow, he may weaken over time due to old age.

he meets blaze and they fight together as a duo until the events of 06, traveling to the past to prevent the future destruction of the world, he would possibly even get to see his snowy home in its prime with no village or family in sight being the past and all but it could be very emotional, at least he doesn't have to worry about getting heatstroke anymore possibly a welcome experience after so much time in Iblis close presence,he is ejected from his timeline and joins sonic forces later on, he now just has to worry about securing the future of sonic's world.
