Description

        The ticking of the clock woke you up. You drowsily sat up and looked at the time. Two o' clock. 'Lets see... I slept for six hours.' You thought, counting off the hours on your fingers. Your stomach rumbled and you rubbed it, looking around the room again. A plate with a sandwich on it was placed by the door. You instantly got out of bed and walked towards it but stopped halfway. What if they put something in it? Like sleeping pills that they used to give the rowdy kids at the orphanage. You turned away from the food and sat back on the bed. You had to fight the temptation of food even though your stomach was empty and rumbling constantly. You huffed in annoyance and didn't give into the hunger eating away at you. 'I need something to pass the time with.' You (e/c) eyes went to the nightstand where the Bible was. 'Nah. I probably wouldn't understand most of that stuff anyway. Wait a second.' You jolted up and threw open the drawer, snatching the Bible from its spot. It was a good enough weight to hurt someone if thrown. You placed the Bible on the floor and dashed over to the plate, sliding the sandwich off of it. You held the plate like a Frisbee and threw it at the wall. It shattered against the wall and echoed throughout the room and hopefully throughout the building. You went to the Bible as you heard the rushed footsteps climb the stairs. The breath hitched in your throat as the quick footsteps came to your room door. You clutched the Bible in your dominant hand, listening to the click of the door being unlocked. Edward stepped in, looking angry and confused. "What was that?" He asked, looking at you. You gulped and chucked the Bible at his head. It hit him right on the forehead and he fell back against the wall. You took your opportunity and ran through the open door. You could hear the faint growl behind you as Edward took after you.
        You kept running, finding the stairs a few seconds later. Nearly tumbling down them as you ran, you made your way to the first floor. "Hey. Someone stop her!" Edward called from upstairs. You looked around and saw a few men, tall and muscly, running towards you. You gulped, half out of fear, the other half out of your throat becoming dry from the gasps of air you were taking in. 'Just a little bit more' you thought, seeing the door. You felt a grab at your (f/c) shirt and let out a yelp of surprise. 'No. No no no no no.' You panicked as another hand grabbed at your shirt and caught you. A whimper left you as the henchman picked you up by the shirt and carried you back to your room. He tossed you onto the bed and slammed the door behind him, making sure to lock it again. You grunted as your back collided with the bed but let no sound of pain escape you. 'Well, at least I tried.' You laid there, staring up at the ceiling and taking deep breaths to ease the burning in your lungs. You closed your eyes for a moment then reopened them, looking towards the floor. There laid the broken pieces of the glass plate. You got up and picked up a medium sized one, making sure to keep the point away from you. 'Just for protection' you told yourself. The floorboards creaked softly as you sat down. 'Dad. I'm sorry I left and that I made you worry. If you can somehow read my mind from wherever you are, please help me. I wont do anything bad or evil or wrong anymore. Just, get me out of this place.' You pleaded in your mind. You needed to pass the time. Sitting around wasn't going to help you at all. You crawled over to the nightstand and opened the drawer again, wondering if anything else was in there. Your (s/c) hand reached inside of it but bumped against the back. Nothing. A loud groan came from you as you gripped the plate shard and sliced down the floorboard. It let out a scratchy sound that pained your ears and caused you to jump then look at the mark you left in the wood. A swiveled line was etched into the floor. 'Hey. Maybe I can draw with this.' It was a long shot but you were able to create small, etched pictures in the wood.
        Etching helped pass the slow time and finally, the sun was beginning to set. You placed the shard back on the floor and watched the sunset. A happy sigh passed your lips as you saw the sky turn from a light blue to an orangey-red and then slowly begin to turn black. Your (e/c) eyes glanced at the clock. Six o' clock. As you went to go to your shard, a noise caught your ear, causing you to look back outside. It sounded like a whooshing noise, then a thud as someone landed on the roof. You tilted your head but backed away from the window and stood in the middle of the room. You warily watched the window, half expecting it to blow up or something. Instead, you saw a shadow land on the sill on the outside and struggle to open the window. You quickly slid under the bed as the person opened the window and dropped into the room. You were instantly grabbed by that person and held against their chest. You opened your mouth to scream but couldn't as whoever it was hopped out of the window and landed softly on the ground. "Sweetie. I'm going to give you a piggy back ride so we can move quicker" whispered the voice as you were shifted to their back. 'Its a woman. I think.' you put your arms around her neck and she took off running away from the hell hole. She was quick and quiet in her movements as she climbed up a building in the heart of Gotham. You hopped off her back when she stopped and your eyes widen as you noticed who she was. 'My god. Its Catwoman.' You smiled thankfully up at Catwoman as she looked around. "Just stay here kid. I have to talk to Harvey." You noticed the slight anger in her voice as she jumped off the building. You frowned and sat on the cold roof. "Great. I'm alone again."
