Everywhere Kashtu looked, the home of the Sky zaruna was being devastated by that disastrous worm. An urgent desire began to burn larger than his fear. In a wild bid he leapt towards Dzanaleh itself, desperately grasping its neck.

The enormous devourer drove itself into a frenzy of terror. Over and over it smashed its own bulk against the cliffs, struggling to dislodge its unexpected attacker. Its hard shell began to fracture. Kastu seized his chance, smashing those cracks open with a flurry of blows.
