Ooo! Very nifty! I can't wait to see what other brain children of the lasso tool come out!

Thanks!
This one is a really spontaneous hit-or-miss method, but I'll try to dissect it a little in a future YouTube video.

And dang, are your drawings lovely! Do you sketch first, then lasso? I'm curious to know how you get such nice distinct shapes for the bodies and limbs.

I sketch traditionnaly 90% of the time, it's realy hard for me to draw good long curves with the mouse :c

Hmm, it's hard to describe without a video example (which I'll try to put together sometime, maybe over Christmas break). Using only the Lasso tool (not Polygonal or Magnetic, the normal one) in Photoshop, you make selections and fill them in, usually starting with a basic silhouette and getting more and more detailed with highlights and patterns. It's a very neat experience, though I recommend a pen tablet of some sort. Not sure how it would work with a mouse...
Thanks so much!

Very interesting! So what is the method, exactly?

It's really fun! You have to work well with silhouettes, taking a chunk of color and whittling it down into a shape using the lasso tool to carve out the edges. Like, the first shape I drew was the big body, then I cut out the eye and shaped the head. From there you can either continue working on one layer (which gets a little tricky) or build its legs and tail off of new layers (which I eventually did). If I ever figure out how to record my screen, I might try recording the process.

Ah, so you make a block of color and cut out the edges! Definitely sounds interesting. Maybe I'll give it a try in GIMP some time.

Awesome!!! At the same time ,it just looks so ... abstract. Like the kind of paintings you see at the museum being sold for millions of dollars.
