    Tris settled down again in the grass next to Tiago and leaned back against him, letting her hair spill over his shoulder. She smiled across at Alma. The woman’s unwavering optimism was more of a balm than anything the physicians had offered.
    Tris gave Tiago’s foreleg a reassuring pat with her good arm. “She’s right. None of this should have happened. But it did. And all of us rose to the challenge.” Her fingers curled a bit tighter, and though she still spoke to the little group as a whole, the words were pointedly directed. “Something good came of this. Other things, too... but both are in the past now. Our work is done.”
    She leaned back and closed her eyes. “All we can do is take these lessons forward with us.”
    The square outside continued to bustle with activity— some triumphant, some more somber. But with every team that came and went, and in the friends surrounding her on the little grassy lawn, Tris saw unity. Five districts coming together in the hour of need. Despite the whole ghastly affair, it was beautiful to see.
    Come what may, the city would stand as one.
Another collab from team Horse Force for the Redey or Not event! This time with the marvelous mellihaeh ! She did the lineart traditionally and I did the shading and some cleanup in Photoshop!
