In Sybal Heim, the Sybal Kata is one of many names for an artistic display like no other. It is a magnum opus, a masterpiece, the ultimate expression of confidence in one's Sybalian identity. It is an ancient practice with no discernable origin, but it has never been a project to be taken lightly. The night brings out the deepest truths in a person, and to embrace your Sybal is to lay bare your soul.
Not long after Tristine's 200th birthday, she began to dissappear during the night for hours on end. After nearly two centuries in the city, she had seen an extraordinary array of Sybals, some beautiful, some frightening, every one of them as unique as the man or woman they reflected. Now she wanted to look inward, to be able to show people who her Sybal was, not just tell them. She found an oft-ignored lecture hall deep in the Archives in Kardia and began practicing, challenging herself, and slowly developing a choreography. A few months in, a friend and fellow archivist stumbled upon her routine (which she stopped the moment she realized he was watching). It was he who introduced her to the notion of the Sybal Kata, and encouraged her to create one of her own. She quickly fell in love with the idea, and has spent countless hours of her personal time to perfect her kata. While she usually doesn't mind attention at night, she tolerates no spectators when she practices her kata. After adjusting to her position as Minister, she no longer went to the Archive to practice, instead ordering one of the smaller ballrooms in the Villa cleared for her use.

To this day, Tristine has only performed the entirety of her Sybal Kata three times for an audience: once for a select group of friends (including the man who had first encouraged her), once for the Organizer, and most recently (around 1881) in the Metavoliseum for an audience of over thirty thousand. It is a performance perfectly and uniquely adapted to her Sybal--a celebration of the Organizer's gift to her. It blends elements of rhythmic gymnastics, figure skating, ribbon dancing and baton twirling with the radiance and dexterity of her Power. Like any true passion project, the kata is never "finished", and Tristine is always looking for new ways to evolve it (like the recent incorporation of chimes on the ends of her baton). In many ways, chasing its perfection has kept her as passionate and optimistic as she was when she first entered the city.
