This was Lionmaru's foil, rival frienemy.
He constantly challenged the hero and it cost him his eye.
This is from a very old Henshin / Tokusatsu Japanese tv show set in ancient Japan
where ninjas turned into anthro furry creatures. even fushions were available.
Fuun lionmaru was a sequel series.

I can tell you're inspiring me to draw new characters!
I'm finishing drawing a series of characters from games like Mario, Sonic, Donkey Kong ..... and I'm also working on some characters from the Rurouni Kenshin series! Finishing these works I will draw a drawing with some characters from the legends of Brazilian folklore and also intend to draw some characters from Lion-Maru. Oh I guess google does not translate Idioms well. also I only wondered what
the enchanted form is, the headless mule part or the female part.
I encourage you to draw more from Brazillian culture man. This will educate more people
about your beautiful history and many from there who don;t know
I did some of my Island. Sadly Spaniards destroyed most of it.
We do have some other legends from the imes the Spaniards arrived to recently. Like a
few years ago a man recorded a purple black smoke in a cemetery where people do
evil worship, they only saw the Christ in the cross, lose his face. when they saw the recording they saw a
purple black smoke exit the statue through the face. There are very sinister stories in Colombia and venezuela.
