! dAv5 has some issue with flash fullView, this is a temporary solution !

~3Dimka Gave me a few tips for home made stereoscopic image pairs, but before I do anything big, I needed to experiment a bit with the new knowledge...
(o' goody! )

So this is basically a rotating cube, rendered as a stereoscopic image pair, and if correctly viewed, it'll give you the full 3D depth, experience.
The default parameters are set to best suit my vision, but I've also left these two sliders for you to tweak, and play with, to best meet with your eyes needs.
I think that the cross-eyed method gives the best results here.

For those of you who are not familiar with the stereoscopic viewing = Google for a tut.
Those of you who are lazy, here are the first two I Googled ->Cross-eye method , Parallel method .

When you've practiced enough on stereoscopic pairs, search the net for stereograms, and discover the real magic.
You could also visit gallery for some excellent animated stereograms.

Really cool effect: Bring the cube really close to you. Then, quickly, pass your finger behind where it appears to be. It actually looks like your finger went behind it.

Amazing! I love these things! What if someone made a movie where you had to cross your eyes through the whole thing?

great job! that's the first stereo-animation i've seen! i always wondered why there weren't any stereo-movies! i mean, in cinema that would be really great without having to wear those spectacles ;D

the reason why they don't do this is because it gives most people who can't do it headaches

Heh, thanks
...but this is far from the first stereo-scopic animation there is, but it's the first interactive one I guess. I haven't seen any that allows you to rotate the object as you wish...

Cheers

i really wonder what a stereoscopic cinema-movie would be like ;D yeah, the interactivity in your one is definitely a new way to go!

awesome

i have a different method, it is hard to explain.

I put my thumb and index finger halfway between the screen and my face as if I am holding a small ball with them. I just focus on where the ball would be and it works.

Try searching for some Stereoscopic Image Pairs on the Net, or some Stereoscopic Viewing tutorials (if the link in the description didn't help), and try again

I'm working on a 3D engine which will allow you to make your own 3D objects for stereoscopic viewing...
I already made the manipulation of vertices, all I need to implement is lines(edges) and faces (yeah, only that, piece of cake ...)

Two cubes moving around ... am I seeing this right or is it just one cube?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

ArtBIT In reply to Formor [2006-08-11 13:45:24 +0000 UTC]

You should look between the two cubes and cross your eyes, and you'll probably see four cubes. Now, focus until you see three cubes (merge the middle two, out of four, in one).
Now focus until that middle cube is crystal sharp, and there you go.
Check the links in teh description for a tut on crossed-eye method for viewing the stereoscopic image pairs...
Take care, Adam dude!

It's nothing I can teach ... it's like teaching you my drawing style ... it's harder than that ... just remember, if you look and believe that there are 16 cubes there, then there are
