2013:

Despite the terrors lurking around the attraction, Samantha pressed on, determined to keep going. After the end of her second week, she decided to finally do some investigating of her own. As she searched, trying to piece together what happened from the fragments around the attraction, she soon found herself in the arcade. She'd never actually taken the time to look at them, being much too busy with other things. It was cramped, with a few arcade machines lining the walls. As she approached the end, she noticed one particular arcade machine: "Fruity Maze". It had been Susie's favourite; she had the high score and everything.

She decided to turn on the machine. She wasn't sure why. Maybe she thought it might bring back memories. Maybe she thought it would bring back her sister, as foolish as that was. Maybe she just wanted to finally beat Susie's high score. Whatever her reasoning, she did. The machine whirred to life, as the familiar chiptune theme began to play. And so, she played. Again, and again. It was an hour before she backed away, after hearing a shuffle nearby.

She stepped back, startled, looking around to find the source of the noise. The shadowy cupcakes were back, peering over the old arcade machines. They looked frightened, yet stayed around, watching. Like they were waiting for her to do something. Whatever they wanted, it had to do with this game in particular. She was sure of it. And so, she played again.

Except it had changed.

As she played again, the game seemed to glitch more and more. The music slowed, the screen would flicker more and more, fruit pieces were replaced with a dead dog... One she recognised. She was horrified. And yet, she played again. As Samantha continued, the candles lit up one by one.

And the glitches got worse. Her character moved slowly now, powerups stopped working... and a trail of blood followed her as she collected the now-dismembered dead dog. The game ended, and the screen went black. It was only then she noticed the reflection in the darkened screen. It wasn't her. It was Susie. It was Susie. With her curly blond hair, and bright blue eyes, and her pink dress. Except she looked sad, like she was about to cry. She didn't notice the large yellow rabbit approaching behind her. She could see the human eyes peering through the costume's hollow eye sockets, staring at her. And then it spoke to her... to Susie.

She banged on the arcade screen, begging for Susie not to listen to him. But Susie didn't respond. The rabbit faded out, and so did her sister. Leaving her to stare at her own reflection in the now-cracked screen.

Samantha stood back in silence, wiping away tears. She hadn't even realised she'd started crying. The air felt heavier now, as she struggled to hold back tears. Had that been real? How could it be real? But it had to have been. That was Susie. That was the day she was taken. It had to be. Susie had only ever worn that dress on special occasions, and she had been wearing it that day. It was the only time she wore it after their dog died. But what could she do now? Who was the yellow rabbit?

She turned back to the machine, noticing the screen had begun flickering again. Curious, she approached.
