That night, when your shoe soles were torn, I smiled and you became the breach in my wall.- bad photo - 35x50 cm - too many hours
Well I've been pretty lazy these days, I've spent my time day/night dreaming about... an improbable future. I'm quite annoyed with myself for completely ignoring reality (especially because I really want to be a part of it) but worry not, I'll get over it. Not over reality, over the escapism habit...

Well, I drew it thinking about someone and I think this person is my greatest inspiration so far, he really made me want to be better - not just at drawing, but as a person. I'm happy that you liked my drawings, because I can't lie in them, they are the best way I can describe myself.

What made you return to reality?

A mixture of my realisation that I was wasting my life wallowing in my own self doubt and pity and my mother realising I needed help. I went through a very dark phase for quite some years without anyone noticing what was going on in my mind, but a mother always knows 
I think it just gets to a point where we realise that we're wasting precious time. Life is too short to spend wishing and wanting and losing ourself in daydreams, eventually we have to pick ourselves back up and actually attempt to live again, rather than just 'exist'.

I find it is entirely too easy to get lost in dreams, and frustratingly hard to get back to the waking world. Too often I find myself lost in thought even though I know I'm letting life pass me by. It really is far too easy to live within oneself.

Oh, why does the easy way have to be wrong? Lately I've been unable even to read stories, just because fiction draws me back from reality. I wish I liked my life enough to want to live it

I'm not entirely convinced liking our lives has much to do with wanting to live them; at least not for me, anyway. Seems that whenever I actually get around to living, it's precisely because I don't like it; like it's my distaste for how my life has gone and is going is what keeps it all going.
I've no idea how much sense, if any, that makes, to be perfectly honest. ^^:

I have the same problem. I spend every single second of my free time roleplaying or reading or lost in music so I don't have to pay attention to the world. Also, amazing work, as usual :3

Oh, we definitely should be conscientious about the life around/within us; fantasizing without transforming dreams into reality is a misuse of time and creativity. The world outside is... a reflection of the world within us. If it's suffering it is us who need to be cured first

But that's exactly the problem. So many people just ignore all the homeless and foodless that we all see in everyday life in Los Angeles. We for the most part arent even trying to fix society or the earth. I help and give money and food but I am only one in several million, most of whom aren't trying to do anything, and it makes me incredibly sad and angry that it's like this.

You are only one, but an individual is enough to change everything. Don't underestimate the power of one, everything you do, think and say matters though you might not be aware of your influence now. There's no greater power than self-example, some day (maybe even yesterday) you've inspired someone else to try to be the change. We're like trees, spreading our branches. One thought - one seed - enough to grow the tallest tree.

Yes, but people need to notice the things we do before the example can spread. I'm planning on starting a school club or project to feed people who need it. Do you think that could work?

You mean to plan a charity event or to raise awareness? Whatever you chose, there's no reason why it shouldn't work. You're gonna need quite a few people to help you though...

Yeah I know. There's planning and a lot of money will be needed to fund the event. I already have several people who I know for sure will want to participate and I hope that they will get others to, but I've never done anything like this before.

There's always a first time, after all, we were all born knowing nothing.
You can find a lot of information about planning an event just searching on google.
Feel free to note me if you need an advice, however I have no experience in planning events (except for weddings).
