Cnocán loves nature and all things outdoors. This, of course, extends to trees. However, as Cnocán’s species naturally live in dens dug underneath tree roots, Cnocán has feet specialized much better for digging rather than tree-climbing, something he learned at a young age.
However, Cnocán loves trees. So one day, he decided that who cares, he’s going to teach himself how to climb a tree. He has wings, after all, what’s the worst that can happen? (Ignoring the fact that flying in a dense evergreen forest is rather difficult). So he flies up to a low-hanging branch and carefully sits on it... only to fall, his legs flopping onto either side of the thick branch.
A little winded, Cnocán sits there for a moment, letting his body relax as he tries to decide how best to get out of this tricky situation (ultimately, wildly flapping his wings does the trick). While laying there, he discovers that it’s really... quite peaceful, quite exhilarating to be up in the tree, relaxed, with the cool breeze blowing around him.
Henceforth, this becomes Cnocán’s choice napping spot on warm, breezy days (think low to mid- 70 degrees Fahrenheit—Draíochta, where he lives, has a rather cool climate, especially in the more mountainous evergreen forests). He’s lucky he lives alone, because really, this behavior is very unlike his species, who mostly stick to the ground unless they’re hunting, so he would no doubt be mercilessly teased for it. Shh, he’ll never let on that he does this!
