This particular piece was very cathartic when I pieced it together.

It was after a long run of pet portraits and political paintings so it was nice to kind of just let the creative process take over.
It’s basically a few of my favorite things thrown together.
70s fashion photography, penwork, big red circle 🔴, decoupage, and a Dilophosaurus.

I drew the Dino in a style that I really enjoy which is looking at a source image but not looking down at the canvas. Just trusting your hand to go where it goes. After that the tail and the rest of the painting was just a painterly dream.
It was initially going to be called “FIERCE” but I liked the tag “my soulmate 93’. It just sort of popped into my head and it stuck.
The 93 is in reference to the year “Jurassic Park” came out, which was a film that was a huge influence on me and I suspect a bunch of other people my age.
Original asking price was $200 + shipping BUT make me an offer so it can find a new home before my move!
