Hey now saying everyone from the US is an "over-priviled brat" is like saying every German is a Nazi, it's simply not true! Yes I will agree with you that I am appalled to see the attitude of some of these kids from the states, but there are some really warm-hearted people out there too. Perhaps it will take time before the majority of the US realizes the good life it has, but for now... I suppose we can just cherish the good friends we have that come from the states. Where someone comes from shouldn't change your opinion of someone.
No offense to you of course, I simply wanted to give some food for thought.

they were separate statements, I'm sorry you don't have the english skills to recognize that.
People with an overinflated ego attitude, whom pretend to know what they're talking about just so they can run others down pop up all the time and I generally ignore them, but he struck me just the wrong way that day and I decided to say somethign to his spoiled, bratty ass.
I was annoyed that he'd prance around spouting his "words of wisdom" in such a harsh, impolite manner. I figured he deserved a taste of his own medicine. c:
eiiiither way I'm totally done with all this, but stand firm in my words and opinions. toodlez!

That was a rhetorical question.
I would never do that because it'd be pointless, unless my goal was to give some guys a boner, which would never be the case for me, but that's kinda what I see the point in this pic. It has no art values WHATSOEVER.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

GodRustang In reply to whisingbloomer [2010-08-25 00:56:33 +0000 UTC]

hmmmmm.... actually even in ancient cultures sexuality was considered a high form of art. Greeks, Romans (until they were christianized and became prudes), Egyptians (to a degree). they all saw the human body (both male and female) as the ultimate form of art. so to say that any body is not a form of art is disrespectfull to the person, and to art itself.

but hey, everyone gets their opinions.

even people who are offended by nudity or people who are jelous of another persons body (which is stupid cuz as i said EVERYONES body is a work of art, clothed or not.)and forgive me if im wrong... but just because you dont find one persons form of art appealing doesnt mean that it isnt a form of art, i can think of some men who create stuffed wild animals or make furcoats.... i dont agree with it but that doesnt mean that it isnt a form of art.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

whisingbloomer In reply to GodRustang [2010-08-25 01:03:33 +0000 UTC]

ancient cultures
their styles obviously differed from this one's.

they all saw the human body (both male and female) as the ultimate form of art.

I never said it wasn't, but I will say it is art depending on how it is used. People created anime using the human body reference as art, some people produced witty and in depth photography focusing on sole attributes of the body, etc. That's art. Art usually has a meaning it wants to convey to the viewer.

Tell me, what does this picture say to you?

You also imply I am offended by nudity. I. AM. NOT. I love it when a person can master the human, naked body and create a work of art that uses the human body, but displays a much, much deeper and different meaning. Like when someone takes a photograph of a naked woman/man nearly drowning in cold water, yet holding onto a fiery object, and you see the cry of anguish on his/her face you don't see the nakedness, you see the attributes of Hot and Cold to a human. That is art.

And I am not the only one who doesn't find this appealing, or art.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

GodRustang In reply to whisingbloomer [2010-08-25 01:14:23 +0000 UTC]

just because you dont find it apealing doesnt mean that it isnt art.
i honestly wouldnt want to look at a drowning man holding a flaming object because to me that sounds cheesy. but that doesnt mean that it isnt a form of art.

[link]
theres a piece of abstract art. i dont find that apealing. it looks like a blob of crap to me. i dont see a meaning behind it. do you see a meaning behind it? regardless it is still art.

also yeah i do see a meaning behind the image of the girl in pink panties. i saw that she worked hard to keep her body in peak condition, to me that says dedication. i also see that she agreed to have her picture taken that says confidence. Yet i also see that she isnt completly nude, that says she has some form of embaressment about having people see her completly naked.

just from those few observations i have pieced together a meaning or story behind her body. and even if i hadnt maybe someone else did. maybe someone else saw her body and found a meaning behind it.

but either way just because it is not appealing to you or to another artist does not mean it is any way inferior to another mans work of art, be he DaVinci, Leonardo, or any other artist, this is still art.

You're not listening to yourself, which is pretty pathetic. Anyone could easily point out the flaws in what you say, and I could, but I don't wish to spend all night telling someone what people see as art and not just a meaningless shot of a girl's crotch.

Ask around before they ask you. You'll see I'm not the ONLY ONE who doesn't find this appeasing.

The only thing pathetic is people insulting other people's artwork. If you cannot come up with something constructive to say, move on without saying anything.

whisingbloomer In reply to shamira-g [2010-08-25 04:10:12 +0000 UTC]

Excuse me? If all that wasn't constructive enough then run back to the people giving their 'Oooh's and 'Ahh's alright? Because that's what obviously works by you as 'something constructive to say'.

shamira-g In reply to whisingbloomer [2010-08-25 04:18:23 +0000 UTC]

Okay, maybe I need to elaborate. I said don't insult people. You could suggest a maturity warning or state why you think it's tasteless instead of giving that smart alec insult line.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

whisingbloomer In reply to shamira-g [2010-08-25 04:22:44 +0000 UTC]

And how did I insult people? By giving my opinion. As I recall my first comment ON THE DEVIATION was something along the lines of 'If I made a pic like this, would it ...."
and someone replied, thus me telling them It was a rhetoric question and I don't see this as art.

Done.
I never bashed the artwork saying 'BOO THIS SUCKS' or 'THIS IS DISGUSTING' or whatever lame thing.

I gave an opinion. Get over it.

shamira-g In reply to whisingbloomer [2010-08-25 04:28:24 +0000 UTC]

Oh, like those people that have gone 'Oooh' and 'Ahh' and 'Nice tummy, sexy body?" Wtf? If people give critiques and opinions to 'art' in such a manner, I'd have quit drawing A LONG time ago.

And because you insist, I shall.

i honestly wouldnt want to look at a drowning man holding a flaming object because to me that sounds cheesy. Well I honestly wouldn't want to look at a girl's crotch because 1/ It's trite and cheesy and 2/ If I was so desperate, I could take off my own pants and look at my even cuter pair of underwear and crotch. So what you find cheesy, and what you find 'not cheesy' for lack of a better term, makes it quite hard for me to take you seriously.

Regarding the link, it's abstract, and it's fun art, because you look at it in different ways and explain what you see. That not only gives people an idea of how one's brain works, but also how often they are used to this type of art. I honestly see a hunchback female serving a man that looks like he has it all, but his eyes aren't focused which indicates he's not all too bright, and finds simple pleasures. It's a ridiculing pic IMO.

also yeah i do see a meaning behind the image of the girl in pink panties. i saw that she worked hard to keep her body in peak condition, to me that says dedication. i also see that she agreed to have her picture taken that says confidence. Yet i also see that she isnt completly nude, that says she has some form of embaressment about having people see her completly naked.

So? Dude, what's your point? If photography was about everyone expressing how they're feeling at that moment, or who they are, then we'd just have one big photo album (or another facebook), and that's BORING to look at unless 1/ You know the person 2/ The picture has a significant meaning to you or 3/ The picture wants to send a significant meaning to the GENERAL AUDIENCE.

Right now, this pic doesn't appease to most except men, and some girls who 'wish they had a body like that'. So I'm looking at the pic now. Would I buy it and place it in a scrap book? For what reason? Would I use it as a postcard cover? Heck no, why should I? Would I use it if it were on bags/ shirts/ in magazines, etc. NO. Why? Because nothing sparks my interest with this.

I hope that satisfied your little dare. And I'm done talking now.

SORE LOSER MUCH?

lol i never gave a word for anyone elses critiqiues. i dont care if other men only find sexual pleasure out of the human body. if i can see another reason behind the image then to me its a form of art.

i honestly wouldnt want to look at a drowning man holding a flaming object because to me that sounds cheesy. So what you find cheesy, and what you find 'not cheesy' for lack of a better term, makes it quite hard for me to take you seriously.
: lol honestly thats the point im making. just because we have different opinions on what we like as art and what we dont doesnt mean that my preference of art is any better or any worse then yours.

Regarding the link, it's abstract, and it's fun art, because you look at it in different ways and explain what you see. : now now i didnt insult your inteligence. id expect the same respect here. i used it as a example of how i didnt find it apealing and was STILL willing to call it art.

it seams to me that you think theres some kind of rule book for art. which there isnt. just because you disagree with another persons art style doesnt mean that it isnt art.

So? Dude, what's your point? If photography was about everyone expressing how they're feeling at that moment, or who they are, then we'd just have one big photo album (or another facebook), and that's BORING to look at unless 1/ You know the person 2/ The picture has a significant meaning to you or 3/ The picture wants to send a significant meaning to the GENERAL AUDIENCE.

once again thats your PERSONAL opinion. just because you didnt like the meaning doesnt mean that it didnt have one... and you said that you couldnt find a meaning behind it but could find one behind a drowning guy being burned.

Right now, this pic doesn't appease to most except men, and some girls who 'wish they had a body like that'. So I'm looking at the pic now. Would I buy it and place it in a scrap book?
