Hooray for puns. I can see it now, him explaining to Alice, in his circuitous way, that he's not a tetotaller, he's a tea-totaller. I have to fav' this.

It would be Ulliver he's explaining it to though. I'm glad you spotted that, it was in fact an intentional pun!

Whoa - he has Jareth-like abilities in juggling...

I like the big tea-like swirl around him!

I loved the way he looks, I think those big teeth give him a very humorous look. The colors you used for his clothing were very well chosen. I've always imagined the hatter in green (I would remove the patches though).

This story will be great, I can feel it!

I think the idea of green that we all have in our heads probably comes from the Disney movie. But I'm keeping the patches, I think they suit this guy.

Yes, I've decided to try and really play up the tea aspect of his character, making him like some sort of artist or composer.

He likes tea! He must surely be a fine English gentleman
Are you aware that one of Chris Riddell's main inspirations was the original illustrator of Alice in Wonderland? Somehow it's always the weird books that get the interesting illustrations...

Yes, and I've always loved them too. I also love the art in the old Oz books.
