Time lapse of process: youtu.be/O-g5G6YGDWw
This time I tested if it’s possible to mix glitter with pouring medium with a splash of water, and pour it as I would with the regular paint mixture. It kind of worked, I guess? The dried and cured result got this kind of tiny rivers or “canyons” among the rest of the paints, which I guess could be the glitter mixture being a bit thinner than the rest of the pouring and therefore flowing quicker and pushing the paint away. It might not have occurred if I hadn’t used water in the mixture, but it does create some interesting texture. Maybe a happy little accident?
I think the best way to use glitter in pouring might be to add it after everything else has cured, either in controlled spots or streams, or as a thin coat like a finishing varnish.
What do you think? Do you have any suggestions I should try out? Leave a comment! And as always: stay artsy-crafty!
