I was digging through some old folders and forgot that I never posted this here. Its from 2014 but I still rather like some of the things going on here. It was for a kickstarter project called Sigantium and it had a sweet vampire dude riding a giant raven gryphon.PhotoshopCS5: 6 hours maybe

I've never really taken too good a look at raven's feet... But I haven taken a good look at chicken feet, since I keep them as pets, and snuggle them. They're pretty cuddly little animals, they really want to be snuggled.
Anyway. Chickens have pretty big scales, thick too. Probably for protection, since they use their feet to dig around for bugs. And roosters use their spurs for fighting...
Your depiction of the scaled legs on this beast makes me want to draw chicken feet. Inspiration~

Oh raven gryphons :3 I made a bunch of raven gryph characters during highschool, one of them had a serrated beak as well.
I like this guy's design a lot, especially the mix of cat feet with bird feet features. It's an appealing combination between two very different kind of creatures ^^
