Cool...The Japanese who make manga and anime never came up with an idea like this, haven't they? Dinosaurs and pterosaurs runnin' amok in Feudal Japan...Looks like it could truly suit the tastes of some sort of manga or anime in the near future...

Oooooohhhhhh...So this is what the coolest thing in the world looks like.  Good to know.

...Poor T-Rex, though.  Can't even reach the arrow in its face.

Wether that is true or not, it does not change the fact that he is correct.

LilacJayStudios In reply to RaishinL [2016-04-07 12:58:10 +0000 UTC]

Well, maybe you could figure out that Katana Samurai did not actually fight against Yari-T-Rex-cavalry. The T-Rex was already extinct when the first Shogunate arose, you know. Maybe (just maybe) this artwork, made by an artist halfway obsessed with dinosaurs, is not the right place for nitpicking about inaccuracies. Especially when the artist knows signifficantly more about the matter than you do.

T. Rex may have been feathered but we don't know whether or not they kept them into adulthood. Either way just appreciate the art.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RaishinL In reply to TheGamingMaverick [2016-04-14 11:52:49 +0000 UTC]

Why would they ever have a reason to loose them in adulthood. That idea is based of off ostriches who lose some featheres when growing up. But you do realize that ostiches live in MUCH hotter environment and despite that they only lose feathers on their necks and legs. There exists NO known animal to day that completely looses all of it s covering when becoming adults. And T.rex had absolutely had NO reason to lose any of it. And if you are going to bring up the whole overheating thing:

1. Feathers reflect heat not absorb it, a study was conducted about it: An emu was active in mid-day running around in the sun while a kangaroo was lazing around in the shade because it is FUR that absorbs heat not feathers.
2. If you are going bring up the whole "too hot" thing and Yutyrannus lived in colder environments, how about do some research. The average temperature in the Hell Creek formation where Tyrannosaurus lived was absolutely no different from where Yutyrannus lived.
3. And even in the scenario that the previous two are untrue. It still does not matter as one crucial fact: Carnivores dont even generate heat  in the first place, so how will you counter that? Say tyrannosaurus was a herbivore?

And also in the absurdly impossible scenario that Tyrannosaurus DID loose every ssingle feather. How the hell will it grow reptillian scales where the feathers were. The only scaly part discovered in tyrannosaurs were their feat and tails and these arent even unusual places to have them as those were reticula (bird scales), the other covering we discovered of tyrannosaurs were a piece of skin in the rib area and a throat from Tarbosaurus, both were NOT scaly, it was bare skin like a plucked chicken. So how about  you Mesozoica fanboy go ahead and dont do desperate attempt at preserving the  the giant Hollywood monsters in your head and hide the real life animals  by editing the Wikipedia pages and instead just accept the truth mr. Donald Trump of Paleontology.

PS. Gigantothermia is not a word.

Wtf I just make a general, open-minded, un-biased comment and you shower me with hate for no reason? I never said it did not keep it's feathers until adulthood, also the skin impressions found on the tail and feet show scales (you can even see images online) on top of that no one has ever said that feathers turn into scales (that's just ridiculous) what I meant was that feathers grow in between the scales and then fall out by adulthood, the feathers found on Tyrannosaurs are quite different to the ones found on modern day birds, carnivorous don't generate heat? what have u been smoking?, also if you think I am trying to preserve some fantasy image of dinosaurs then you are mistaken, I only got interested in them back in 2007 which is well after feathered dinosaurs were established and even then I believed T. Rex may have had feathers. No difference in climate? Look online anywhere and you would see their is a clear difference, also what's so bad about loving Mesozoica? It's a game, with dinosaurs and to me anything that is those 2 things I instantly love, I like Saurian, PK, The Isle and even Ark. Also it was funny at first but now I'm confused WHAT THE HELL IS THIS WIKIPEDIA THING!?

PS. I never said Gigantothermia, it's Gigantothermy I believe

And where ahve you heard carnivores generate heat? From random people on the Interent? How about you give me a link that says the temperatures were very humid i. Hell Creek and cold in Yutyrannus' formation, give me the evidence. You just literally said "no its not what have you been smoking?" on everything I jus said. How about give proper evidence and a source. And yes unlik you who obviously does NOT have anything to back you up, I have a source right here (youtu.be/uM5JN__15-g )

TheGamingMaverick In reply to RaishinL [2016-04-14 14:24:09 +0000 UTC]

All animals generate heat, it's common knowledge. saurian.maxmediacorp.com/?page… , also it is currently thought that Yutyrannus lived at a time and location when the average yearly temperature was around 10 degrees Celsius. Also you say my sources are from random people on the internet yet your sources is exactly that

Your response tells me you did not watch the video or know who he is. Funny you mention Saurian, as it was the Saurian team who was behind making this video with him. So I guess Saurian counts as a random source then by your logic. You call someone who had acces to Saurian files and had the Saurian developers help with the video (and off topic is friends with Nick one of the developers) a random source. Your response cotradicts itself.

TheGamingMaverick In reply to RaishinL [2016-04-14 21:29:59 +0000 UTC]

I do know who Trey is and I have watched his video even in that he mentions the scales and he seems to have a poor understanding of the scale theory, either way I cant stress this enough, I DID NOT ever say T. Rex definitely lost it's feathers as an adult in fact I am almost certain it kept them into adulthood. All I did was say we don't know because well that is true. Also all I can say is that whoever that is on wikipedai is not me, his views are completly different to mine as it is quite obvious that dinosaurs had feathers have been found in many coelurosaurs as well as in megalosaurs and may even be basal to the dinosauria lineage as we found them on kulindadromeus. I only said we don't know, I am being ambiguous because I don't want to imply certainty when we are still figuring it out yet you instantly label me as a feather hater, mesozoica lover and some sort of evil guy for just choosing to be picky. I read the thing and although the facebook thing you linked to is mine and I do visit the Mesozoica page often I also visit the pages of all dinosaur games.
