You should take this one all the way man. I see so many possibilities with it, it would be a shame to leave it unfinished. Do it for me if nothing else :shameless:

Feel free to ignore this: in my opinion some stronger value contrast in the pit behind the bridge would be nice, also not sure if the monochromatic scheme is intentional since if not, some color variations could accent the focus more. Also some slight irregularities in the wooden planks and terrain could use fixing. I'm such a detail freak and that's why you shouldn't leave an actual size download bro (I'm kidding, please do).

haha i see , i am not yet confortable with environment i will try to give more variation of colors as i go forward improving in landscape for now i will keep it to the confortable zone , usually i would go for black and white because its one less thing to care about but with this lvl of coloring i feel confident enough . As for detailing more i am not sure i want to for those ones , though i keep in mind your advices , i will def re-use those in the future , but for now i prefer to keep it rough to focus on compo and materials as i already say i am still beginner when it comes to environment i go step by step hehe
thanks for your cool critics man you are always welcome to give me some more .

I hear you man, and I'm glad you understand where my criticism is coming from. I also got utmost respect for people playing their strengths and waiting till they get objectively better to strut their new skills, and the time you took to write me the nice elaboration.
I have the complete opposite approach to my work, but to each his own. There's no right or wrong way there, imho.
And criticism is always more than welcome on my page as well.

I didn't say it so you can catch a clue, I just meant I can dish it out but I've also got no problem getting it myself. You're a good dude Pierre, you don't need my pardon

I had a problem like that at one point... Decided to unwatch a lot of "descent", "slightly remarkable" artists and focus only on my friends and the extreme pro's

It's beautiful. It looks really dangerous
Great use of texture. It makes it look realistic. I also like the color gradient towards the back. That really enhances a credible perspective.
I hope I'll be able to make something like this one day.

Hi , i used only textured brush for this one , no photo incrsutation , and there is no reason you cannot make it , i did sucks a lot in environment , i still sucks but less you can do it wot time and dedication , i have no doubt about it .
Thanks again for thekind words

scarlet-tango In reply to Asahisuperdry [2012-10-17 15:28:56 +0000 UTC]

Thnx. Nice to know how you got to this. I'll try using more texture brushes in the future. Did you make the brushes yourself, or did you get them somewhere?
And thank YOU for your kind words

i think you can find most of the brushes i used typing matthias verhasselt brushes on google , also djahal brushes , usually it's a mix of brushes , plus some shape made with lasso tool and painted with texture brushes , more important will be to understand the light and volumes , you can have lots of texture but it won't look good if u don't know much about volumes and light it's themost important texture are just here to give the material information . good luck!!
