this one's good! and well as for monster hunter portable 3rd, capcom decided to ditch under water/ aquatic fights.. and they reverted back to all terrain fights.. which i find better..

Don't mean to rain on your parade...
But his horn should be in plain sight from this angle you drew him. And the line of spines on his lower jaw are a little.. small or rather, a bit off. If I'm correct they are supposed to be a bit bigger and more crude.
And lastly, underwater. I see that the Hunter's legs are a bit more.. detailed under water than the Lagiacrus' parts that are submerged. You could've tried making his chest and front paws/fins a bit more notable.
And I think... that's more or less all I wanted to give some critique on. In any case, this is still an amazing picture for a game that is released not all too long ago. Good work.

Yes it really does. Plus I have to think completely different from how I'm used to thinking whenever I'm drawing. I'm definitely not going to be doing 3D modeling for a living. Now 3D animation is awesome!!

See, this is the stuff that makes me smile when I see such artwork and pictures like this. It just has this type of feeling, where it pulls all your attention to such fine details on the elements on both the environment and the ones fighting.
You tend to get this feeling of a strong emotion from the action taking place; The adrenaline from encountering this beast who has an advantage in the water, and the hunter who's taking the monster head on in a grand battle of speed and power, just makes me stop and simply look at all the details in the art.
Awesome work you got here, I would definitely say, it's going in my Favorites for sure. 10/10 from my end here.
