Description This is a request from for a new icon! As you can see, she's already using it! I'm really proud of my slightly new style, and I think the coloring on this one went really well.

Both the background and the lineart were done in Adobe Illustrator, while the coloring and shading were done in Gimp.

Extra special thanks to for the tutorial on how to actually do shading well! His new gaussian blur method for both shading and highlighting was used here, and I have to say it looks really good. You can see how he uses this method here: aquablast-fon.deviantart.com/a…

Also, yes, the image size is massive. Why? Because I can. Also because it's easier to color when you change your vector image to something huge.

Well, you certainly are using it differently than I expected, but as long as you're happy with it, I'm glad!

Though I noticed that the shadow below the chin doesn't actually stick to below the chin (same for the shadow inside her ears), which I think is inherent when you're using Gaussian Blur with a low blur radius. If you want to change that though, you can use the SMUDGE TOOL to smudge the shadow closer to the lines (just remember to keep the colored area selected, as to not smudge the line itself or smudging outside of it!) Smudge Tool is incredibly useful for adjustments after using the Gaussian Blur. (So is the regular Blur Tool, but I don't think your drawing has need of Blur Tool right now.)

I don't how you use your Fuzzy Selection, but I like to use something like 100 for threshold when using flat colors + black lines, to make sure that I'm modifying as much as the colored area as possible.

I really like how it turned out. Yeah, I definitely used it differently, but I think it looks good. Better than my other drawings at least XD

Yeah, I noticed that too. I did consider fixing it, and I did use the smudge tool to fix one spot that got kinda messed up on the neck, but I figured I'd leave it. I think it makes it look interesting. I will definitely do some tests in the future though, and I'll keep improving.

my fuzzy selection is, no joke, selecting the entire layer. Every piece of shading is on the same layer, and I blurred them all at once. I selected inside the lines to keep it from smudging over the lineart, but besides that I just selected everything.
