Yes. Yes I can! I've had a bunch of work for my AP classes and stuff and preparing for my semester exams. Little things like this brighten my day and let me know I can keep going. Thanks!

Here's my reasoning behind it; If it's hard, it's impossible. If it's not hard, it isn't impossible. It might not make a whole lot of sense, but it does to me.

AspenWynd In reply to UltramanZenith [2016-11-17 16:46:27 +0000 UTC]

It's a really sad way to look at things. If something is hard but you say it's impossible then how will you ever be able to challenge yourself? College? Family life? Unforeseeable hardships? These are all part of life and sometimes you will have to do really hard, awful things and if you simply give up and say "it's impossible, it's too hard", then how will you ever succeed?

UltramanZenith In reply to AspenWynd [2016-11-17 18:22:17 +0000 UTC]

I succeed by telling myself it isn't too hard.

Hey here's a tip I just did with my 2 1/2 month old.

Between 6-8pm feed them, change them, then bundle them up and tell them you love them and put them in their crib and let them cry themself to sleep. I'm not even kidding when I say you're going to feel immense guilt doing this and hate yourself every moment of it. It can take up to an hour or so for them to calm down in the first couple nights. It took mine about one week, each night crying a little bit less before falling asleep. Now it's been almost two weeks, and she only cries for 1-5 minutes before falling asleep on her own. The magical thing? Three nights in a row now she's slept through the night! It's normal for babies to sleep 12+ hours too so I've been getting proper sleep now for the first time since the end of August right before she was born!

You'll feel so much better and motivated, and baby will be happier too(mine is more pleasant during the day and smiles way more now that she's getting enough sleep where she WAS NOT before, having to sleep with me which IS NOT safe at all and I wouldn't get good sleep anyways).

Let me know how it goes and good luck! If you need support shoot me a PM any time. Hope you and your little one can catch some good sleep ASAP.

Hahahahaha actually i have tried it and it worked with my oldest but my youngest not on your life this kid can scream at the top of his lungs for 3 hours straight

Danged auto correct!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheraMutt In reply to LunarEstrella [2016-11-13 03:40:40 +0000 UTC]

Yeah it was like this with mine too but don't give in to them. It's better for the kid in the end, they'll learn to self-soothe eventually even though it's pure torture for you in the mean time. I didn't think it'd work either then magically after a week of pure hell, she slept(and so did I). It works on every kid just some are more strong willed than others! So maybe look forward to your youngest being stubborn when they're older too. But don't let your kids run your life like that. It doesn't help them when they're older, have to learn not to be demanding and to be independent as quickly as possible. The longer you wait the harder it is to change. :c

Oh and I dunno if I mentioned but DON'T check in on them. You can calm yourself by reminding that you took care of their needs before putting them down, so they're purely crying for attention from mom.

XD trust me he gets to sit and scream we've been doing this for well over a month but our boys share the same room so we eventually have to move him to put the oldest to bed XD eventually he knocks out but tonight he's nearly made himself hoarse its the worst he's ever done and I actually think I need to lower the crib again because he nearly pulled himself out when I was putting my oldest in bed

TheraMutt In reply to LunarEstrella [2016-11-13 03:51:42 +0000 UTC]

Eh, it's because you always come and get him so he knows if he holds out you'll come eventually and give in to his demands. :/

It's alright though, if you want to keep living like this. A lot of people are doing that now. I fear for the future with the kind of people this style of parenting will make(not that it reflects on you, attachment parenting is a fad lately with a lot of parenting groups).

LunarEstrella In reply to TheraMutt [2016-11-13 03:58:23 +0000 UTC]

XD naw he just moves to the play pen in our room hun XD trust me weve had other people like the baby sitter try it too this method for real just doesnt work because everybabt like every pregnancy and every mom is different we just haven't found a method that works for this one yet. Here we are the parents first not our kid's best friend the kids dont rule here we do. there is more than one sleep method training since this one has been tried for a month and obviously isn't working if I want to do the sensible thing that means trying something new I'm also a naturalist so we are going to trying some lavendar oil in our bed time routine and trying a different method but tonight was the first night and I had laundry to finish therefore he sat and cried in our room XD

TheraMutt In reply to LunarEstrella [2016-11-13 04:01:47 +0000 UTC]

My point is you haven't tried it, from the sounds of it you eventually go to the kid every time he cries so he keeps crying because he knows it works.

People aren't as different as you think, but you don't have to take my advice and clearly you don't want to so I'll leave you be. Good luck with your kids!

LunarEstrella In reply to TheraMutt [2016-11-13 04:07:09 +0000 UTC]

Trust me hun moving him isn't giving in and though I appreciate the effort trying something for a month is long enough for it to make a difference your technique works for you and your child and may work for others but not everyone is as similar as you think. Different kids have different needs eventually we'll find what works for this one Thank you for trying though
