It was really interesting because we got up in the middle of the night to drive a few hours to be there by sunrise, only to have to pull over and snap shots as the sun was coming up. Β We got really lucky that we were in such a good spot.. the sky didn't stay that color for more than 2 or 3 minutes. Β

If I am not mistaken, those are the Rockys. When I was in Colorado, Colorado Springs, I remember having visited the Rocky Mountains National Park and the Rainbow Curve - but I was 15 then, more than 30 years ago and I might mistake the picture for something else.

Right. Β I don't remember where exactly this was at. Β I was visiting a friend out in the Denver area and we got up in the middle of the night to get to those peaks for photos by sunrise. Β

Wow...truly breathtaking landscape! I've never been to any part of America, but it's on my "to-do" list! I especially love the different hues of purple mixing together, and how the texture and scope of the mountains seem to reach out to the sky. Oooh texture!
