Description "The procession stopped at a chapel in the center of the cemetery. The mourners remained dignified and calm as they entered the chapel. The coffin was carried in and laid on a bier. At the end of the funeral service, the coffin was either lowered through the floor into catacombs, or the ceremony ended outside at the place of burial. If indeed the ceremony did end up at the actual burial site, the women would leave and only the men would remain to witness the actual interment."

This paragraph alone is what made me want to create this image. I kept thinking of "Catacomb Kittens" by Cinema Strange while making it, but it isn't supposed to be related to that song.

This is for my duel with Isisless I can't decide which version I like better, this one or the sepia one. This damned picture took me 4 more hours than I was expecting it to take!!!! Which means I'm late on my deadline AGAIN! ugh. I'm not sure if all the time I spent on it is worth it in the end..

Sepia version - [link]

Here's something a friend of mine wrote, after I had already created this image. It was strange because he hadn't seen this, and he was hoping what he wrote would inspire me, and when I showed him this, it was pretty close to what he had in mind!

"the dark chamber that it entered to become human began becoming after time had begun. ?It/she grew cold, for, she suddenly had realized that there was a light. It shone grey forever from God's eyes and the chamber now began becoming ever more. He stuttered to recall what it was half a moment ago, arrived into a seat and her position was becoming less unclear. I smiled because before I had become extant for a moment I returned and they womb glowed with a flicker. her past essense crumbled and now we stood there like a waterfall somehow moving and standing still at the same time."
