I never use painter and I love what work comes out of it from other artists, so I thought I'd give another stab at it.. a little better than some of my other attempts.. just took the first sketch I found on my comp and colored it.. finishing stuffs done in photoshoptexture:

I'd say it's a bit too blurry, in general (but well it's a first attempt .. bwah.. I'm sure you'll soon master it so much I'll be jealous

She's so cute! I love the way you draw the human form. Kind of chubby, but cinched around the waist still, like she's wearing a corset.
