Truely nightmarish, and I love how the settings in almost every work from the room series have a feeling that they are stuck in time and the scene shall be perserved in that form forever. I don't know if that makes sense to you. For me this aspect of the image makes it even more depressing. Like a real nightmare that would never end and would eventually drive the subject insane.

Thank you very much for taking the time to share with me your thoughts on these paintings. These are images conjured from my own often irrational fears and concept of what I find unnerving, distressing, etc. It's a great compliment to read that they evoke such emotions in you, as to me this means that to some small extent I've managed to convey my feelings to the viewer. I really enjoy reading people's interpretations of my paintings. It always makes me see them (the paintings) from a new angle.

AWW! Just like my nursery. I'm misty eyed for my old bedroom. Anyway, Incredible detail with the shadows and light. Excellent work. This would give most normal people nightmares!

This is my favorite of the series. Death coming through the wall just looks amazing, so expressive and spectral. I really really love it. I only wish that death was perhaps a little further out of the wall to give dome of the cloth a tiny bit more dimension and that perhaps the character he is touching had just the vaguest semblance of facial features. I really really love this image though. As always, your work astounds me.

Asya, These three black and white paintings are breathtaking. It takes a lot of skill and courage to take away color to capture the subtleties of light and mass in 2-d. You capture a depth and gravity in the areas you invite the viewer to focus on by sharpening your line, while allowing the atmosphere of the background to assist the mood and tone, rather then overwhelm it. It shows a visual patience and maturity that I've seen creeping its way through your portfolio since I found you. Its great to see you attacking architecture and interiors. I see you can treat them with the same care and soul that you give to your denizens. Like Beksinski your subject matter is so dreamlike that it requires a slanted realism to make the viewer believe. The strength of your technique is sculptural in its ability to make me see it existing there on the page. As your work continues, it becomes less and less like a picture and more like a window. I am touched when I see these three. It is like watching an artist visited by his Muse. It (the idea), creeps It's way into the Artist's environment, and reality, invited by the Artist's will. Once there is influences and manipulates the Artist until it can exist on its own. The art defining the artists as much as the artist defines the art. Really beautiful, and very well done. You are growing all the time.
