Description Water beads on an Iris leaf. Shot with Nikor 200mm f/2.8 macro lens.

The weather here has been very Irish. A parade of shocking blue skies and puffy cumulus clouds followed by dark cumulo-nimbus and heavy showers then back again to sun. The rain beads up on the waxy iris leaves leaving these little worlds reflected in the water drops, much like Vernor Vinge's Bobbles--silver stasis fields where life continues.

White balance adjusted, cropped and sharpened a bit. I wonder if a polarizing filter would reduce the reflections on the surface of the drops? Hmm, when my filter comes back from the shop (it broke while shooting).

Oh, gosh and wow. I think the reflections really add to the entire picture, your kinda seeing the entire world through a different perspective within the water droplets. Really good photo!

Hey, thanks!

My circular polarizing filters been replaced, it's expected delivery is next week. I'll experiment and see how it affects the reflections.

Thanks for the comment!
