Description
This one was taken at one of the old war ruins from the Achim Oellager. It's an interesting story: There are still remains of the storage bunkers for oil, that had first been built in 1911 and been expanded between 1934 till 1940. Funnily enough, back then, that place was the biggest deposit for oil in all of Germany. After WW II the bunkers were blown up by the British Army, the holes filled with sand from the dunes. But some stone pieces still look out from the ground here and there. The park that now grows in it's remains is really beautiful and a great walking place. Finja really enjoys it there. 😊
