To the left you can see the same image as to the right only with inverted colors. Try inverting it your self and see what happens

When i was young i was watching a lot of child shows like Art Attack - there was one small trick i still remember from that show and use it time to time. When you draw fur or something else thats very details but random use a uneven surface to draw that image on ( a surface that would resemble the texture you are trying to achieve ) it does not make a huge difference but it can give you the little extra you would need to make it look better. Normally you would need a thinner type of paper to pull it off , about 100g paper should work fine.
