This was honestly just a doodle that wound up in my notebook, I found it amusing enough to post it. Coloring is simple and done that way on purpose. If anything I ended up adding more detail to it than I initially meant to.

It's called an AU or alternate universe. essentially taking characters from a known series and throwing everything on it's head with a new concept.

Looking at this a 2nd time with what I know now....Β This is either a challenge of claim or he is just trying to get Sam's attention and doing an mer version of flirting. Or he was board to no end and wanted to stir up a little trouble. *chuckles*

It's more the later. He learned very quickly what was claimed by Sam and the rulesΒ that she held over them; such as he can use it, but it's hers sort of thing. In this case he was bored with her ignoring him and wanted attention. Its not uncommon for mers to flirt or tease one another through nipping at each other's fins or playing keep away with one another's claims. In a sense its flirting.
