The Old King, whose real name is forbidden to be spoken of and carries a death sentence under the Grimalkin law, ruled over 80% of the Grimalkin Empire during the days prior to the Great Nine Tales arrival to the dominion.  The term ruled is used loosely during this period as the Empire itself was undergoing a constant routine of war between the many different clans for Alpha rights in different providences.  Despite the victor in those disputes, tribute would still be due to the Old King.  Failure would result in the extermination of the new clan as well as the previous ruling clan, leaving the territory open for further competition.

There were those who would occasionally rise up to challenge the Old King but none have found success or remained in one piece.  He was known for his ability to use a katana with extreme skill and precision without the use of any additional enchants or sorcery to defeat any foe which stood to challenge him.  The clans of the defeated would be absorbed into his own, bolstering his ranks and strength.  His unrelenting strength and ever growing power would only add to his hubris in the end.  As more challengers arose to challenge his lead, he ordered scribes and historians to begin writing great exaggerations of his battles and conquest.  The writings would evolve into great novels and epic tales making his image to others legendary or godlike.  He knew as his legend grew, fewer challengers would arise to face his image but without any challengers or conquest, his imagine would grow stale and become questioned repeating the cycle.

The Old King set his eyes on the unconquered regions across the sea to the west which he and so many had avoided in the past.  The area was mostly inhabited by fox races known for their mysticisms and trickery which made it a burden to even trade with.  On arrival to the new lands his legion found the land devastated and large jagged formations of purple crystals had erupted terrain.  Inhabitants and civilization were far and few.  What was left of the inhabitants pointed his forces toward the once bastion of civilization of their land which he would have to take to complete this story and conquest.

As his forces drew closer to their intended target the ground and sky became thick with ash which seemed to constantly rain down until in the a large monstrous white figure, larger than any fortress or castle stood in their path.   Before the first person could speak, the figure had already closed the distance between itself and the war band revealing itself to be a gigantic fox with 4 tails which quickly devoured half a division in one bite.  Morale was broken and a full retreat toward the sea began.   As the Old King fled with his troops, the fox released multiple blasts of white flame which instantly turned many into ash.  As they continued to flee they were further decimated a larger black fox with 6 tails blocked their path.  The Old King and only a handful of his escort alone made it to the coast and safely on board one of the 1000’s of now derelict ships.  As they sailed away they two foxes halted at the coastal waters but in the distance the Old King a pair of glowing red eyes far larger than the two foxes on the coast.

News of the defeat and absolute failure spread quickly and was forever branded on the Old King’s legacy.  His story was tainted as he returned to his castle which was now depleted of its soldiers.  He immediately begin ordering the Alphas of each clan to prepare their best troops for an all out invasion on the fox territory in order to salvage what he could, refusing to let his story end there.  There would be no invasion.  Only weeks after returning to his domain, reports arose of two giant beasts emerging from the sea and wreaking havoc on the land, devouring those in their path.  His incomplete task has followed back to his homeland.  As ordered, the clans wound ally an entire nation to battle their new foes.  Sadly they were no more than a buffet.  The foxes grew strong and more tails with every encounter until the clan soldiers being mostly female began rebelling against their Alphas, who mostly kept out of direct combat with the foxes, refusing to engage in battle.  The Alphas themselves could not pass the chance to defeat the beasts which would crown them as the head alpha.  This would later attribute to the decimation of the male population of the Grimalkin empire and be forever marked in the Old Kings history.

As time of the Great Nine Tales past foxes eventually vanished as rumors of a new alpha emerging and defeating them began to spread.  The Old King could only sit and seethe as all he had worked for was burned away and tainted in the history of the world.  Civilization grew around him, as his castle crumbled becoming nothing more than a landmark, eventually spanning to different planets and galaxies.

During the Great Invasion news reached the Old King.  The now appointed Overlord was noted to be accompanied by twin Kitu one with black hair and the other white, both sporting 9 tails and exception abilities.  He caught on immediately.  His adversaries remained alive and his story was not yet complete.  He summoned those alphas who had survived the age of the Great Nine tail and rekindled their hate and bloodlust.  With new found talents and empires of their own he would lead them into a civil war with the now ruling Ryoko of Kajishima clan knowing that above her the overlord and his old foes awaited.  Thus the Alpha Wars began, cutting short Ryoko’s Invasion.

The war was long and brutal but eventually the overlords will proved to be to much and the Alphas fell one by one.  Those who would not serve were crushed.  Those who would serve would lose their right eye and tails to carry their shame forever.  As his final attempt to restore his great tale begin to crumble he set out to challenge the overlord himself only to be met in his own thrown room by a lone female with burning red eyes and a pair of glasses folded in her hand.  By the time Grimalkin forces reached the throne room, all they found was a broken body on the floor with every bone shattered.  That did not save him from his banishment to the basilica of torment for decades.

His mind and body were twisted in the most vile of ways before both were lost.  Nuku Nuku seized what remained of his mind before it was completely lost using her warp fused minions.  She then began to perform her grotesque warp experimentation on him for over 100 years.  As a further insult to his name, his mind was bound to a tome bound in his own flesh which was sealed way in his throne room which now exists on planet Nukunuku itself.  The sheer hatred and spite along with the darkness of the warp now flowing threw it manifested itself a physical form which appears to be neither living nor dead.  It remains in the castle ruins forever trying to rewrite its tale in the book which is always being rewritten and reset by his tormentors.
