i know, but they're pretty much the same god/person tho. the romans just used their name on the established greek pantheon. it's like calling the moon tsuki in japanese and yue in chinese.Β
i for one am alway annoyed that people so often only know or accept the myth of medusa being an modern victim blaming story, cuz there's more than one version of the story, and medusa aint always the innocent mortal victim.Β

She had the deed with her boyfriend in Athena's temple, she deserved it!
And she was meant to be a forever virgin to the temple so there is where she went wrong #2

well, 1) said boyfriend was Poseidon so eff you Poseidon for your petty rivalry with Athena (even though I sort of ship those two gods),
2) if the do was consensual i totally despise how it was only medusa who got "punished" but yea what were you thinking Med to screw around in the temple of a VIRGIN GODDESS?!
3) there's a version in which medusa was arrogant about her beauty (her hair to be precise) and compared herself to Athena when she attracted Poseidon, in which case, yes she had it coming even tho it might be a bit too harsh in modern standards,
4) a totally popular version know to the mass is that she was raped by Poseidon, in which case eff you both Po & The!,
5) there's an interpretation/version in which Athena's "curse" was actually a "blessing in disguise" and i like the sound of that, and is possible since Medusa later used as a symbol of protection for women; not to mention Medusa means "guardian" or "protectress"Β
a lot of the greek & roman myths have more than one interpretation, and it's our choice to have a preference and preferred "canon" but we honestly need to be a bit open about what's "true" in those myths. it's more confusing than any other myths i've learned due it having a rather unspecified origin and whatnot

It would be funny and cool if we get a character who's named Poseidon XD I like to imagine that person being a girl cuz it's always fun when people mistakenly assumes a person's sex/gender due to their name lolΒ

Neptune: Y'know, Sun, you're not really that bright.
Sun: Aww, bro, don't be a wet blanket!
Neptune: Don't go morning your losses, I'm just that good!
Sun: Yeah, well... You're...!
Neptune: Looks like Sun couldn't rise to the occasion.
Sun: I hate you.
Neptune: Ooh, burn, Sun, burn!
Sun: really? Really?

I wouldn't go that far. The world has waited "Xiao Long" for a pun master of her caliber? I'd estimate over "Pun" thousand years. I could never replace her, and the odds of Neptune doing so are "astronomical"
