Description
So... many... colours...I completely forgot how opposing the colours for the three Pokemon are, and it's hard to make blue, pink, and orange all fit together. Hopefully it looks good to you guys though. Also.. drawing and colouring the fire and lava was awesome, I love it when a piece includes those ^o^
But I digress... This is the 2nd piece of my Alola trial pokemon series featuring the fire trial pokemon, and totem salazzle, which I wanted to put in a more unique pose and setting than I've previously seen. I'm going to continue with the series, likely making Mallow's forest trial next, and I'd like to get feedback, on either this piece or my Wishiwashi piece to see how I can improve ^^ Any comments are welcome! ^^

I like the vision that it took to make this. Taking the idea of the trial's in Sun and Moon and making art from this idea. You include shadows, cast, and reflected, you have a nice repetition of form and a very complementary color palate. The stylized Pokemon are reminiscent of stained glass windows, and I feel that this makes the work really pop. I would love to see more intricate detailing on either the backgrounds or the characters themselves, or both. You could also take this and do multiple trials making up your own. The composition is also pleasing, displaying a triangular pattern. Overall I do like this piece, I think it is a wonderful idea and really displays your creative process, work and experience working full and finalized pieces of art. I would also like to see you kind of get out of your wheelhouse and use different medias to make the next piece. I think this series of work is really amazing, and impactful.

No problem. Your work is really well thought out, rendered and depicted. I think to push yourself you just need to make sure you're making it not so flat, or Pop-art styled. But if that's the style you're actually going for, then maybe you're already hitting your stride. It looks really nice.

Yeah the flat-ness is an unfortunate side effect of this style, and I know its in many of the other posters in this style too, but I'm trying to experiment with this kind of artwork and see what all of it looks like at the end of all the posters in the series. After these are all done I might try another style and see whether its an improvement on this one. One with thinner line art and a painted look that should make a piece flow more and look less flat. Thank you very much for the constructive feedback though, I love feedback like this. ^^

I've never done a critique before but i thought i'd try since i love this piece a lot.
I don't think I've seen anything like this apart from the previous totem pokemon piece you did. I really like this. I think the style reminds me of murals since its so bold and colourful! Also the lizard print in the lava is a nice addition.
I think the colour choice is good it really pops, you eyes follow the image around from Salazzle, to marowak then to sandalit's tail and back around.
However because they overlap in such a way and that the colours for the pokemons body are so similar they kind of blend together. I think maybe adding colour behind marowak and Sandalit may help define them, because it looks like there ready to come off the page.
I think the pose for Salazzle is good,I feel that maybe she could have been more imposing with the other two behind her although the pose you've done does make her look like shes the boss and the pink aura you've done and the glowing eyes is great.
Overall a lovely job; Can't wait to see the next one!

The Fire Trial was my favorite of all. The theme was fun, I liked the opponent Pokémon, not too easy-not too hard.
I love the bold coloring and outlines, and how Totem Salazzle stands so tall with a sharp gaze and looking so dangerous.

It was nice and fun, and different from most of the other trials. While others were made to seem imposing and intimidating, this was a nice breath of fresh air with the joking and dancing. :3 And thank you so much, I'm glad you like it! ^o^
