OH thank you very much Ribbs! The color scheme was something I found myself pretty happy with, the original photograph had a very subtle hint of that blue secondary light, so I dialed it up a notch and that really brought it together, I think!
(Also, this comment almost slipped me by because there was no new comment notification, what the hell dA :l)
I think I mentioned her in passing - I'm playing her in our modern-day Werewolf romp, she's a sort of wolfy bard, meaning I do things like write stories to tell in-character. One interesting thing about her is she's a metis, meaning she was already born as a Werewolf from a forbidden relationship, in other words, she has kind of an inhuman perspective on a lot of things, but she also suffers a lot of prejudice, which creates a lot of conflict since she's in such a socially-driven "class". It's really fun to play and to develop! I can tell you a little more about it in a note if you'd like. ;D

The matter with eyes I think is mostly remembering that the iris itself is actually concave under the cornea, so you first shade it with that in mind, then add the highlights taking the cornea's curvature into account. This tutorial was where I got it, unfortunately the original artist's post seems to be down, but at least pinterest still has it!
