Connor does need the thirium, but Connor's regulator got KO'd so Nines hooked up his circulatory system with Connor's. Nines's regulator is working for both of their pumps, or something like that.

I read that part.. very touching.. so many feelings..
Say.. Why when they lost some of their component or gets broken - they can't be fixed or replaced with a new component? They're always sent the new android.. Like it was with Connor's pump - if you can't manage to take it back in time - he will be "dead" and they'll sent the new Connor.. Why can't they place that pump back when hes shut down? Just place it and turn him on..? This always confused me..
