America has a lot of limits on stuff and it just ends up making things really kiddish and it bores me a bit. Not all the time but a lot of the times american shows are like that.

I KNOW!!! Overprotective parents took the good stuff off TV because, "Oh well, violent stuff just isn't good for our poor, innocent, and naive children, who may become affected by it." Pfffffftttt. Please....I grew up on violent cartoons, I turned out fine, and besides, if I did something wrong, I got DISCIPLINED!!! THAT is the number one problem we have right now, kids are allowed to do whatever they damn well please and now they're saying spanking is bad for mental development. I got spanked or sent to the corner during my childhood and I don't have any mental problems. TIME-OUT doesn't do crap, on top of everything.

But yeah you're totally right. America's gotten soft and WAY over protected. It's sickening to watch and I just wish things could go back to how they were.
Even my mom sheltered me like that. Mostly because of my siblings but I didn't know about a lot of shit until my freshman year of high school. Kids in my junior high already knew shit but not me cuz my mom kept me being one hell of a niave 15 year old. I look back and see how stupid I must've sounded in front of those kids. All of them seemed to know a lot more than I did and it pissed me off because a lot of that stuff I could've easily gotten it out of any PG-13 movie that she never let me see until I was 15. Oh yeah. I was 13 to 15 in junior high. But didn't know things until freshman year.
And the discipline thing. Well that could depend on the kid. See I'm a very emotional person and take things mentally A LOT so time outs worked far better than spanking ever did for me. I would cry in my room because I couldn't do anything. I wanted to watch TV or place with something in the living room and couldn't because I was locked in my room and it made me feel bad. It also taught me that this is what will happen if I do something wrong. I'll get things taken away and I knew I didn't want that and it worked on me and my sister. My brother not so much but it sure worked on us.
This is why there needs to be different methods to discipline. NOT EVERYONE IS THE SAME WE ALL THINK AND FEEL AND LEARN DIFFERENTLY AND AMERICA YOU NEED TO OPEN YOUR FUCKING EYES AND REALIZE THAT

I hated getting spanked, so I tried to keep from getting spanked as much as I could.
Geez, so your mom was one of those overprotective mothers who thought her little baby couldn't handle something. I'll admit that when I found out something that wasn't appropriate, I was like this. But then I would get over it, usually very quickly. Kids are usually a lot tougher than adults give them credit for.
I'm not sure LOCKING your room was necessary, but alright. I hated getting sent to my room too, I had toys and stuff, but at the times, I wanted to be playing ELSEWHERE.

Yeah, I had to tone down some of my stuff too because my baby sister was too young to be around it at the time. It's not fair, but I didn't have a choice back then.
