When Topaz touches another Gem, she can pull them into her own gem. This is where she carries all her memories, all the memories she's taken, and most importantly, her internal home: When left for years and years in the ground, you make the most of what you have. Topaz has a literal home inside of her gem that is ever-changing depending on her moods, and needs. It is where she drew gems to tear them apart as interrogator...or retreated to when the weight became too much. These days, the only time she comes to this place is when she sleeps, or when she accidentally (or intentionally) touches another's gem and they find themselves deep in the tangles of her mind.
It is the only place she is able to have both a voice, and a face.
