Description
Rendor stood before his Emperor, his eyes downcast and shame on his face. He had just returned from an expedition to Raziez City, more commonly known as the City of Storms. When a farmer to the south reported that he had seen movement in the city, Rendor and a small group of select warriors had gone to investigate the inhabitant-less city. When they had reached the city, they had found something so disgusting, so fearsome, so powerful that he and his men had been forced to retreat. Rendor was the only one who had survived.

“You disappoint me, general,” said the gruff voice of the emperor as he sat in his jewel-covered throne, his chin tilted high as if he wanted to enforce exactly how much higher he was than the general. “High recommendations, top of the class, leader of one of the most elite troops. And yet you run from a…mythical creature!?”
“Sir! It was no mythical creature!”
“And how can you prove to me that it was real?”
“It left several odd scars along my arms and body.”
“Hmm…”

The Emperor snapped his fingers and in walked a group of physicians.

“Examine him. Give me the results when you are done.” He then turned to the general. “We shall see if you are telling the truth or spouting myths, general.”

As the physicians escorted Rendor out of the throne-room, the general noticed an inconspicuous character standing in the corner. He was a noble, that much he was sure of. But there was something odd about him…something that made his appearance less Rayerkhan, if that was possible. As the doors to the throne-room closed, Rendor got one last glance at the noble, who grinned as though he knew something that no one else did. Rendor felt a shiver run down his spine. Who was that man?
