the thin tadpole tail would fit better to an amphibian? or perhaps if they had a thin skin could be possible?

That's what the fossils of Shokawa and Hyphalosaurus suggest: a thin, flattened tail.

The choristoderes include the marginally better known "champsosaurs," and they were the only order of reptiles to survive the K/T Extinction event, only to go extinct during the Miocene.
