He looks like burned toast and i unironically love him. Firestar is the first protagonist and the only POV character we have in the first arc (if i remember correctly) so he holds a real special place in my heart - from the wiki:

Firestar is a bright flame-colored tom with emerald green eyes.

1. Marks

Most of the designs for him have tabby stripes, but i never really imagined him like this, so i made him a Somali cat, just much, much more saturated. I gave him a small mane of fur around his neck and a brighter heart shaped mark on his chest as a call-back to his name (though I'm pretty sure Bluestar named him Fireheart cause he's brave), as well as white paws and tail tip.

His colors reflect his name - he has warm oranges, bright reds, and a few splashes of beige and white. I saw this comic of Bluestar seeing him after he won the fight with Longtail and saying something like “You look like a bright flame in the sunlight.” and i fell in love with it so let’s just accept that Firestar looks like he’s literally flaming in the sun and he scares Tigerclaw, because really, why not

I'm incorporating that one headcannon that cats get a "special leader marking" after they meet with Star clan and gave him a beige diamond and some spots on his forehead. Not all leaders are going to have a diamond mark, he's just the most vanilla one so that's why he has specifically this. That being said all leaders with no exception are going to have a leader's mark (Tigerclaw/star does not have one, and ill be explaining why in detail when i do a Star clan/Dark Forest meta in a few days).

2. Build

So, Fireheart starts out as a kittypet so i gave him more domestic cat features. Say he's a pure-bred Somali, so his face is kinda like a Siamese cat's? A bit diamond shaped with his forehead blending smoothly with his nose. The breed has almond shaped eyes, bushy tails, and large pointed ears, which not only makes Firestar stand out in Thunder clan, it'll also help me a lot with Squirrelflight's design.

The smaller drawing in the back is him as a newly made warrior, so he doesnt have his leaders markings there and his fur is shorter. I imagine he gets bigger as he ages as all leaders will, but he's still small and lean looking next to a clan-born cat.

I spent longer on this boy than i wanna admit lol but i think he turned out looking great! Next is Sandstorm!
