Description
I loved this movie ever since I saw the design of Yonggary, it's unique in a way that they could have improved the CG to become more realistic enough. There are plenty of haters of the remake, what they actually talking about is the 2001 Yonggary, with the aliens and Cykor involved. The 1999 version is a much legit version where the only kaiju is Yonggary himself, no aliens, no Cykor, nothing.Related content

Love the design, HATED the CGI effects. Seriously, this needs to come back in a different movie with better effects

The movie is cheap but I still get a kick out of it. Though I still prefear the original look of the monster from the 60's. While that movie is also bad, it is very boring in spots. At least you got the horrible effects and dialogue from the remake to make it interesting.

Saw the 2001 version recently. While the crappy CGI is pretty destracting, it's overall your typical so-bad-it's-good monster flick. Still like the original '67 film better, though.
As for Yongary's redesign, I'm very much a fan of the original; they just changed way too much... though, I admit, not to the point of the beast being unlikable. He's like Zilla from the '98 movie: Just convince yourself he and the original are not the same thing and you'll like him fine.
